TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK - MANY WAYS TO SAY THANK YOU
This coming week, in May, marks Teacher Appreciation Week in the US.
Now although we don’t have the same in the UK, in recent weeks I have been thinking a LOT about just how vital a role our teachers play, not just everyday, but also right now in lockdown by enabling so may of our key workers with children, to continue to go to work and support us.
As you can imagine, since I am home schooling at the moment, I’ve signed up to loads of online resources, and I received a lovely mailer from one of the the American ones, this weekend, with ideas and ways we can show our appreciation to our teachers. You can read education.com’s ideas by clicking here.
Here are some other ways we can show our teachers what they mean to us:
Draw a “thank you teachers” picture and stick in your window, alongside our thank you NHS rainbows.
Create a photo collage with other class mates - each child can hold up one word to write a thank you message.
Send your teacher a thank you card or gift to school. Many schools are still open and teaches are going in, even if not everyday.
Do a fundraiser for your school. Many schools supplement their budgets through provision of services like after school clubs and breakfast clubs. Since these are now closed, they will be missing out on additional funding.
Post enthusiastic pictures of your child doing their school work and home work - teachers will feel so valued and happy knowing that their efforts to continue helping educate their pupils through home schooling are being well-received.
Make a gift with your child to give once they return to school. See my blog here on 5 great gift ideas you can make, for teachers.
Here’s to all the teachers. Thank you for all you are doing right now. Thank you for all you always do.
