EAST LONDON MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHER
Creating timeless & elegant photography of your pregnancy at the very beginning of your new baby’s life.
Pregnancy is a whirlwind of change but there is an ideal window, around the 7-8 month mark when you can clearly see your bump and you look and feel amazing. It's a fleeting moment you'll want to cherish forever. With training from top maternity photographers, I've honed a timeless and elegant style for my maternity portraits. Together, we'll capture flattering, relaxed portraits of you and your bump, whether in my East London studio or outdoors.
Stylised studio maternity shoots
With use of my maternity gowns & flowing fabrics as well as some of your own clothes (or not, as you prefer).
Studio maternity photoshoots take place in my East London photography studio (within 10 mins of Canning Town, Stratford and Canary Wharf).
We shoot for around 10-12 different images, featuring two or three different background colours, and around three different outfits. Sessions last approx 90 mins.
Sessions are suitable for the expectant mother as well as a partner and any other children you’d like to bring along.
Casual outdoors maternity shoots
More casual, outdoors photoshoots during the week, in Victoria Park, East London, wearing your own clothing, featuring a few different locations around the park.
We shoot for around 10-12 different image with sessions lasting around 20 mins.

If you’d like your outdoors maternity shoot to include other family members or other children then we book you in for a standard outdoors sessions for which weekend slots are also available. These are suitable for around 20 different portraits, and last 45 mins.

Maternity photography - your questions answered
-
Get in touch with me once you’ve had your 20 week scan. We then have plenty of time to plan your session and get a date of your choice, booked.
-
Sessions are best done around 7-8 months pregnant - when your bump is already full and round but before the baby ‘drops’ as you may become less comfortable then.
-
This very much depends on your tastes. Studio sessions are more stylised, whereas the outdoors ones are more casual.
The time of year can also make a difference to the look of outdoors shoots.
-
Studio shoots take place in my family photography studio, located on the border of Tower Hamlets and Newham, in East London, a stone’s throw from Stratford, Canning Town and Hackney Wick. Outdoors shoots take place in Victoria Park, in East London.

Studio sessions are perfect for mum, a partner and any other children.
The 20 min, weekday outdoors sessions are perfect for mum, and a partner. If you’d like to bring other children along then we would book you in or a longer, 45 min session. -
I have trained with lots of different maternity photographers over the years.
Those who have influenced me the most, are Natasha Ince, Maggie Robinson, and Ana Brandt. I also take a lot of inspiration from Tianna Williams. Finally, I have also trained in boudoir photographer - which may sound strange - but some of the poses in boudoir photography and maternity photography are similar - we are looking to elongate limbs and highlight our best features - it just happens that one of those features is now, also, our pregnancy bump. -
It makes no difference at all - we don’t tend to choose the outfits and colours based on gender, but rather based on colours you love, and what will suit the final location of your photos. Many families like to have a framed print in the master bedroom, whilst others like to include some of the images at the beginning of their newborn photo album.
-
We meet again, about two weeks after your shoot, to go through your edited images. When we meet we decide on which package of (digital) images and printed items you would like. There are a few packages available. See below for more details.
Before coming back to this appointment, I recommend sending me photos of walls and rooms you’re thinking of hanging pictures up on, so I can take this into consideration when preparing your images for your viewing.

“We had both our maternity and newborn photoshoot with Sara recently. She is truly amazing, very professional and made us feel really comfy with her friendly nature. Before our shoot, she made sure everything was in place and suggesting excellent themes and ideas that suited us. Her way of dealing with my newborn was so heartwarming and we absolutely loved all our newborn and family photos. Would highly recommend her if you are looking to cherish some absolute memorable pictures.”
